True or False: The high eccentricity of Mercury's orbit ?

probably has nothing to do with Mercury's 3:2 synch of rotation and revolution. This is an astronomy question.True or False: The high eccentricity of Mercury's orbit ?
It has nothing to do with the 3:2 rotation.

On another note, Mercury experiences a ';precession of perihelion'; because part of it's orbit, because of the high eccentricity, it within relativistically warped space/time as a result of the Sun's mass...
