false i think. it is necessary because the person/people you would be trying to persuade would need proof. duh...nix the duhIs this true or false It is not necessary to include facts or statistics in a persuasive essay. ?
If the facts and statistics are relevant to your argument(s) and are from a credible source, then they can be incredibly useful in making your essay more persuasive. Whether or not they're absolutely necessary can be debateable. It really depends on what the essay is for. Sometimes, you can have a persuasive essay without statistics if the subject matter isn't really conducive to statistics.

In general, though, I'd say it's true.
It really depends on what you're 'persuading' your readers about. Say, for instance, if it was about drop out rates of students, you might want to add a statistic or two in there but you shouldn't make your whole paper in statistics. Or, maybe abortion, a couple statistics here and there. Facts are always fine, but the numbers and percentages and such aren't always required.
Depends...if it is a free response and it is not common knowledge then true, if it is a research type essay then false.
