True or false: the scientific method is the key to all discoveries and advances in science?

No, serendipity.True or false: the scientific method is the key to all discoveries and advances in science?
It seems like that would be a true statement but, somehow it just doesn't ring true with me.





All discoveries and advances are not always based upon the scientific method. Some discoveries and advances just happen by chance, serendipitously. There are times when something completely new and unexpected just ';falls'; out of experiments on an entirely different project.
